Madrid, perched at an altitude of 600 meters, redefines the norms with its blend of tradition and modernity. Between contemporary art, majestic palaces, and an unyielding zest for life, the Spanish capital radiates vibrancy. It is in this dynamic setting that the Four Seasons Madrid opened in September 2020, embodying elegance and luxury in the heart of the city.

Madrid, proud and castiza (of noble lineage), was once, alongside Rome, one of the most polluted cities in Europe. Today, the Spanish capital breathes anew, inviting visitors to explore its streets on foot or by bike. Here, you walk with your head held high, taking in the city’s electric atmosphere and marveling at its astonishingly rich architecture—a fusion of medieval remnants and grand buildings inherited from the Habsburg and Bourbon dynasties. The ruling houses of Spain, from Flanders, Austria, and France, have left a striking architectural legacy, making Madrid a city of impressive historical density.

Every neighborhood in Madrid unveils a unique facet of the city. The Barrio de Salamanca attracts luxury seekers with its prestigious boutiques, while Chueca entices fashion enthusiasts with its creative vibrancy. To immerse yourself in old Madrid, head to Austrias, where the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and the famous San Miguel Market—renowned for its charcuterie and local cheeses—paint a picture of historic charm.

History lovers will find their haven in Las Letras, a district steeped in the legacy of Spain’s literary greats. In need of greenery? Casa de Campo, Spain’s largest urban park, offers a natural escape, while Retiro Park, spanning 125 hectares, captivates with its Crystal Palace and 15,000 trees. And for those craving tapas in a lively setting, La Latina is the go-to destination, perfect for soaking in Madrid’s vibrant soul.

Four Seasons Madrid: A Masterful Blend of Art and History

In the heart of Madrid, just steps from Puerta del Sol and the bustling boutiques of Gran Vía, Four Seasons Madrid stands as the pinnacle of an ambitious architectural project. Bringing together seven historic buildings, including the legendary Palacio de La Equitativa, built in 1887, the hotel has been meticulously restored, preserving its neoclassical details while infusing them with new life.

This transformation, the result of eight years of painstaking work, combined modern techniques with artisanal craftsmanship, allowing for the conservation and reinstallation of nearly 3,700 historical artifacts. Among them, historic safes have been repurposed—five now serve as jewelry showcases in the lobby, while another has been transformed into the hotel’s main entrance, a bold symbol bridging past and present.

Every corner of the hotel celebrates this seamless fusion of heritage and modernity, a testament to both respect for history and a resolutely contemporary vision.

From the moment you step into Four Seasons Madrid, you are immersed in an artistic universe. The lobby, a veritable living museum, houses an impressive collection of 1,500 carefully curated works of art, handpicked by curator Paloma Fernández-Iriondo. Among its standout pieces, a striking sculpture by contemporary artist KAWS makes a bold statement, blending modern art with a historic setting.

At the heart of the hotel, a beautifully restored stained-glass dome from 1920 bathes the lobby in a kaleidoscope of colors. Restored frescoes and intricate moldings stand alongside daring contemporary installations, creating a fascinating dialogue between past and present. Every corner of the lobby invites exploration, transforming the simple act of arrival into a sensory experience.

Guests can enjoy lunch, dinner, or a drink at El Patio, located right within the lobby.

The corridors of the hotel resemble a living museum, where contemporary Spanish art harmonizes with historical treasures, creating a captivating visual experience. This seamless aesthetic invites guests on an inspiring journey through artistic movements and eras, transforming the hotel into a timeless celebration of beauty.

The rooms, adorned with plaster moldings crafted in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, pay a subtle tribute to Madrid’s artistic heritage. Spacious interiors, bathed in natural light, feature carefully curated decor in warm honey and ivory-beige tones, while plush sofas and armchairs seamlessly blend into the ambiance. These thoughtful design choices create a fluid, calming atmosphere, ensuring absolute comfort.

On the 7th floor, Dani, the signature restaurant by renowned Andalusian chef Dani García, embodies the boldness and excellence of modern Iberian gastronomy. With three Michelin stars for his Marbella restaurant, García made waves by transforming it into a trendy steakhouse, reflecting his desire to follow his own culinary vision, free from conventions.

The ambiance is both convivial and relaxed—ideal for savoring dishes that balance simplicity and refinement.

In his kitchen, García explores Spanish flavors through his "Naked Food" concept, highlighting fresh, locally sourced ingredients, free from artificial additives or preservatives. My Opinion:

A destination you can visit with complete confidence, as the Four Seasons Group has an innate sense of service and attention to detail. Everything here exudes luxury—but a discreet, welcoming kind of luxury where you instantly feel at ease. Open to outside guests, you can stop by for a drink or enjoy a fine dining experience. Prices remain reasonable, with rooms starting at €575, including a lavish buffet breakfast. Staying here makes any trip unforgettable, especially with the 7th-floor terrace at Dani Brasserie, perfect for a drink or a meal in an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere.

Similarly, Isa Restaurant & Cocktail Bar offers a different vibe, blending Asian fusion cuisine with precise cooking techniques and exquisite flavors.

The spa, featuring a pool with an open-air view, is another highlight—the natural daylight filtering in creates a serene and rejuvenating environment.

In short, if you're in Madrid, make a stop at Four Seasons Madrid, even if just for a drink—you won’t regret it!
