Van Gogh Museum moves to Hermitage

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, mostly dedicated to the work of Vincent Van Gogh and also housing other 19th century pieces of art was in need of a renovation. During the seven months of renovation works most of the collection will be transferred to the Hermitage Amsterdam.

The  Netherlands would not be the same without its famous painters. From the golden age to the impressionists, Art in Europe was clearly marked by Dutch artists. Vincent Van Gogh might just be one of the most productive of them all. With over 2,000 artworks he painted during his life, Van Gogh occupies an important place in the world of Art. This is why, even during the renovations, his most famous paintings such as the Sunflowers, The Bedroom or The Yellow House will still be available for the public in the Hermitage. To celebrate this unique occasion the museum has simultaneously organised an exhibition about impressionism, Impressionism: Sensation & Inspiration, Highlights from the Hermitage. A great way to enjoy the works of one of the most influential artists that has ever lived and at the same time discover the Hermitage and its treasures.
