Ostape, auberge en Navarre

Both pastoral and sophisticated, the Auberge Ostapé is an harmonic mix of tradition and modernity: the cottage spirit with a five-star hotel comfort, services and equipments. In the spirit of the beautiful Basque farms, five villas on a 45 hectares preserved domain at the heart of the green Basque Country hills, including a restored farm from 1665. A fragrant terroir is waiting for you, simmering close to the fireplace.

Accommodations :

Relax in one of the 22 suites, from 45 to 91m2, with independent front door and huge fireplace, at the first floor, as a duplex or on the garden level. Aritza (oak), Leizara, Gaztaindoa (chestnut-wood)... they are all named after a tree. Each has its own style. A first one, one of the two in the main house, was maintained (riding boot in front of the fireplace, Equestrian paintings, big four-poster bed...), a second one entirely declined in cream tones, a third one signed by the designer Philippe Hurel... Comfort, privacy and silence. The spacious suites are set into this powerful and intact nature. If this could be a place for a fabulous tale, we truly found it.

Restaurants :

Saint-Jean-de-Luz tuna, Banca's trouts, Aldudes' pigs, vegetable garden's herbs, Bidarray's sheep milk cheese, tree fruits and much more products are serving a simple Navarre gastronomy around the market menu, written on the slate, changing everyday depending on the chef's desire.

On the terrace or in the successive dining-rooms, all in black and white, with fireplace and "tables d'hôtes", the chef Cedric Roubin, his three cooks and his baker, are creating terroir's menus respectful to the traditional Basque gastronomy, mixing some high-quality local products. A perfect cooking and plate presentations are turning the meals in something really subtle. Same hard-work for requested meals for an improvised picnic. Tables are "adorned" with their best assets: Chrome yellow plates, Chambriard violet wood cutlery with the Ostapé's oak leaf engraved on the blade, the Christofle "Ténéré"'s dinner service.
