Oscar Carvallo 2014, a collection inspired by art
"Voyage cinétique II", Oscar Caravallo's new couture Spring/Summer collection was born from the collaboration with artist Carlos Cruz Diez. it follows their first 2009 common event at the Arts décoratifs museum in Paris.
The new collection of Oscar Carvallo introduces 35 looks which prints, shapes, textures and details have been inspired by six paintings made exclusively for the collection byCarlos Cruz-Diez, transforming the female body into a piece of art. With his special care for detail and finishes, Oscar Carvallo mixes silk, muslin, silk gazar, and lace with rougher materials such as neoprene, mesh and metal strips. Cruz-Diez is one of the greatest theorists on color and the bright colors used in the collection made this quite evident. With the interplay of the colors and movements, accompanied by the fine jewelry created by the artist, this daring designer has proven one thing: When you step inside the world of Carvallo, you’ll leave with stars in your eyes.
