A private and sacred island

In the north-western part of Madagascar, an hour-and-a-half ride with the fast motor boat of Nosy-Bé, Tsarabanjina is a sacred island. On the peninsula of the eastern beach, the tomb of the Sakalava Kings of the Mitsio Islands has been laid to rest. The people of Mitsio still regularly venerate this place and come and bring offerings in the form of money, honey or even rum. Like the pilgrims, you will go there to discover the places, barefoot, in a ‘lamba’ (the local pareao) in order to leave a present to appease the gods and have them watch out for you, too during your stay. ...

Rosewood and thatched roof

The twenty-one bungalows of the Tsarabanjina Constance Island Lodge have been laid out in the middle of nature, under beefwood, on the shores of two of the fine sandy beaches, the North and South Beaches. The Robinson-style dwellings have been built in rosewood with sloping thatched roofs. Large and with a charming, sheltered terrace, they have a bedroom with a fan and a pretty bathroom. The restaurant bar reflects the same traditional architecture. We eat out on the mezzanine with a view of the sea.

Happiness is going barefoot

At the Constance Island Lodge, the luxury is the nature. Here, nothing is flashy. Happiness lies in the authenticity of the places. We go barefoot, even to the bar whose fine sandy ground opens onto the lagoon.
The atmosphere is informal, but elegant at the Constance Island Lodge, which even has a boutique where you can pick up Malagasy arts and crafts and clothes from the Tsarabanjina line. And if you are worried about getting bored between swimming, diving and taking walks to discover your private island, the library proposes a wide choice of books and games. We told you, a real, little slice of paradise...
