When a car goes design-happy

Developed in partnership between Michelin and Venturi Automobiles, the Venturi Volage, which was unveiled, for the first time, at the «Paris Motor Show 2008», the world trade fair for the automotive industry, is a high-tech electric sportscar concept which marks a giant leap forward in car manufacturing. All the more so because we are talking about a Sacha Lakic design, now youcan’t get much better than that, can you?

Cutting-edge automobile innovation

The new
Venturi has taken on board innovations which have lead to radical transformations in terms of car-make, style, dynamic behaviour and more generally-speaking, for a modern car design. Just so many world firsts that reconfirms Venturi’s capacity for innovation, and its leading position in the area of electric vehicle propulsion. Among the highlights are the eight in-wheel motors, four of which control the active suspension system, an active electric shock absorber system allowing total adaptation to the type of road surface and driving…In fact, considering its engine, and silent operation, it is the summum of the present car technology.

A sensual and refined design

When designer Sacha Lakic talks about
Venturi Volage, he is so absolutely inspired that it sounds like he is describing a wedding dress or the masterpiece of a great artist: "Like a light and sensual veil, thanks to its exceptional technical features. Active suspension and motors incorporated into the wheels, a flat bottom, aerodynamic tunnels: these choices and technological advances have enabled me to “design the void” usually occupied by the engine and suspensions, and thus explore bold new avenues in term of styling.” In other words, aerodynamics is the main tool in the elaboration of its form. How can we resist the seductive power… of the Venturi effect?
