Julia Migénès, the new Carmen

Julia Migénès, acclaimed opera singer, known to the public for her interpretation of Carmen on film, is thriving, directing her first opera at L'Opéra en Plein Air. She is also currently working on Le Barbier de Séville by Rossini. Faithful to her extrovert personality, she hustled singers so that they "shook their booty"!

Born in Bronx, she answers to our usual threel questions on luxury, with humour.
What does luxury mean to you?

I never think in terms of luxury. Which is strange for somebody who was born very poor... But for me, luxury represents things that give a little fresh air as opposed to problems, so as to make for an easier and happier life.

What is the epitome of luxury for you?

To be tall, with long blond hair, a small chest, and long legs without a single glimpse of cellulite!
Moreover, to have a metabolism which works perfectly well and which lets me eat as much as I want without getting fat.  In fact this is total luxury.

The luxury which you cannot live without?
My bed.
My breakfast and my puppy by my side. Or, my bed with my breakfast and Brad Pitt at my side!
