Delvaux: Its First U.S. Flagship in New York
DELVAUX has opened its first American flagship on the fabled Fifth Avenue at the corner of 59th Street, on Manhattan's elegant Upper East Side, overlooking Central park.
DELVAUX's brand new boutique is located in the Sherry-Netherland building, on the former site of exclusive jewelry store "A La Vieille Russie". Built in 1927, this famous building facing the legendary Plaza Hotel is among the city's many iconic landmarks and therefore an ideal place for DELVAUX to open its first flagship store in the United States.
The New York boutique not only breathes the essence of the Belgian Manufacturer of fine leather luxury goods, but also symbolizes the diversity of New York itself. The boutique is designed to reflect its iconic Fifth Avenue location and the vitality of all of Manhattan's neighborhoods. Throughout the boutique, a mix of Art Deco elements and DELVAUX's bold and innovative style.
Exquisite interior design
Entering the New York boutique, the marble floor of Gris des Ardennes complements the wall, decorated with leather cutting tools from the Russell studio and an elegant Emiel Veranneman table. The refurbished corridor leads all the way to the mezzanine, and its pillars are painted with the custom-made Belgian flag colors. Through the perfectly restored railings, you can directly see the fine antique central candlestick that once illuminated a Flemish church.
On the higher floors, the all-velvet lounge is magnificent, with large windows overlooking Central Park. This area features carefully restored Versailles parquet floors and a French 18th-century Regency-style table that once belonged to financier George Jay Gould I. Other key pieces of furniture include an elegant Veranneman chests of drawers.
