For the new S/S20 Couture Collection George Chakra pays tribute to his home country, Lebanon. The county’s frantic energy, its youth’s desire for freedom of rights and the recent mobilization are at the heart of the couturier’s work. The clothes breathe the sophistication, complexity and current reality of Lebanon. To underline this engagement and solidarity even Chakra’s family and team members took part in the show and debuted on the runway. Embodying the support for a peaceful change in Lebanon the guests were given a white rose at the beginning of the show. Bright floral patterns also run through the new S/S20 collection, with a mini dress made entirely of ivory petals, a tulle ensemble appliqué with roses and bouquets printed on fluorescent pink Duchess satin. The transparencies in the collection add an ethereal refinement in a game of contrasts. The color palette evokes a wild nature, between lush forests and a tropical island with white, bright pink, aquamarine, water green, lagoon, sky or glacier prints, reminiscent of feminine warrior.

The bride on the runway presented a special creation by jewelry designer Fawaz Gruosi, a longtime friend of George Chakra. The white gold necklace adorning the brides neck is set with 46 pear-shaped emeralds (about 57.15 carats), 45 brilliant-cut white diamonds (about 25.75 carats) and paved with 3.274 brilliant-cut white diamonds (approx. 116.95 carats). Proceeds from the necklace will be donated to the children's cancer hospital in Beirut and the scholarships of the St. Vincent de Paul school.
