The Patton P42H

The Patton Hyperbare or P42H to its fans, was immersed in a giant hyperbaric tank filled with water and locked with hydraulic cylinders in order to test its ability to withstand the extreme pressure experienced at great depths. If that’s not enough, take a look at it hanging from the wreckage of a cargo ship at the bottom of the Indian Ocean… perfectly watertight and functioning like clockwork !

P42 Chronograph and P42I : Unbeatable strength ?

The P42C, the watch of choice of French sailor, Yann Eliès, has also undergone some extreme testing. As well as being placed inside the wheel of a famous German racing car driven at 150 mph, it has also been attached to the outside of a skydiving plane, completely withstanding the accompanying pressure vibrations and variations. Not to be outdone, the P42I ( the ‘I’ is for ‘Immersion) has also undergone hardcore testing to prove its ability to resist even the toughest conditions. Not only was it set into a crevice on the Aiguille du Midi in the Mont-Blanc mountain range, but it also managed to survive being dragged at 62 mph behind a racing yacht.
