The Domaine of Rochevilaine : pleasure and wellness

When you arrive at the road detour, at the Pointe of Pen Lan in Billiers in Brittany, a hotel comprised of l5th and 16th century manors, is situated along this peninsula. This reconstitution of a Brittany village was the dream of an eccentric billionaire, the Dresch motorbike manufacturer (named after Henri Dresch) in the 1950s he fell for this outstanding site.

An old Brittany village

The unique road ends in front of the "Gateway of Truth", a gigantic sculpted porch that dates back to the 13th century and opens onto a unique set of ancient residences.
Scattered between the pastoral "garden treatment", the 15th and 16th-century manors, a "salt customs office", the "fishermen house" at the waterfront and a granite and glass castle, offering visitors through their vibrant personalities all of the comfort desired thanks to the thematic decoration of 36 rooms or suites (from 30 m² to 90 m²).
Zodiac signs with symbols of music, seasons and the seven capital sins give us the impression of being in the Orient or in a bijou apartment in New York, or in a boat cabin, but the sea is always present.
In this hotel anchored on the ocean, the welcome is serene and polite, in the image of the captain of the vessel, Bertrand Jacquet.

The call of the Big Blue is permanent

Constructed on the peninsula, the domain unfolds its maritime panorama under its windows, for the pleasure of guests.
The call of the Big Blue never ceases. Never tiring, the waves break at the foot of the rocks, paying tribute to this earth-grounded vessel while ruffled seagulls play with the capricious wind, by tracing endless arabesques in the sky.
Chef Patrice Caillaut is the mastermind at "Les Chevaliers" Restaurant where the architectural setting never fails to amaze us thanks to its unique objects, sand-boxes and polychrome wooden sculptures from the beginning of the 16th century, lintel of the chimney representing grape harvesting in Cana or Aubusson tapestries of the 17th century.

A bridge on the sea

The dining room is a bridge on the sea where the view plunges over the rocks, thanks to its immense glass windows.
Patrice Caillaut, master on board for more than ten years, distils with finesse and originalities his creations and delights visitors with shellfish and fish freshly fished. His "trust" and "harmony" or "lobster in 3 courses" menus are worth the detour. Let yourself fall into the temptation, for example for langoustines and gnocchis of potimarron (a combination of pumpkin and chestnut), with shell juice, or for a pike perch filet with macerated walnut wine that comes with leek tagliatelles... A real delight !

A former guardroom houses the wine cellar

The inspiration of a chef who is not afraid of mixes, sometimes giving a surprising, but also very creative result, combined with the two sommeliers of the establishment, Hervé Guinoiseau and Laurent Drollet, transform the art of fine dining and the pleasure of wine into a tasting celebration.
A former guardroom houses the wine cellar with thousands of bottles (more than 100 references) where the preference is confirmed for new wines such as the Bordeaux supérieur, the Château Grand Verdus Grande réserve, A. et P., the Grix de la Salle 2000 or the Mercurey La Framboisière, Faiveley 2000, without forgetting the great classics.

The age-old concept of antique thermal baths

To top it all, a marine spa of 1300 m² to pamper the other parts of the bodies of guests… The beauty institute where Maria Galland products are highlighted and that is connected to a magnificent swimming pool with a glass roof that opens in the summer.
The "Acqua Phénicia" spa, thus named to evoke the passage of Phoenicians on this site, that perpetuates this age-old concept of antique thermal baths in this luxury venue.
Three exclusive and new treatments, the "Table Phénicienne", the "Nopal" and the "Nomad" treatments complete the broad range offered in kinesitherapy, balneotherapy or in aesthetics, without forgetting to mention 6-day treatments or 2-day mini-treatments and specific packages.

At Domaine de Rochevilaine the motto centres around pleasure and wellness !

On ne parle que de lui alors qu'il a vu le jour tout récemment, en décembre 2011...
