Fashion Week : When London becomes Milan...
London Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2018 collections looked like an Italian Fashion Week. In fact, Emporio Armani and Versus Versace said "Ciao" to Milan and "Hello" to London... Inescapable among all of these changes : Burberry Fashion Show and its legendary tartan.
Burberry : September Collection
Called "Here We Are", the latest Burberry Fashion Show, guided by Christopher Bailey, the creative director, was celebrating reporters and photographers as well as genuine "British" people. The show featured a lot of signature tartan, some fine pastel lace, plastic raincoats, trench-coats, sportswear pieces and Kaia Gerber,Cindy Crawford's daughter on the catwalk. On the front row, fashion icons such as Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Cara Delevingne, no less! The show took place in the former court of Old Sessions House with its old mirrors and chandeliers.
Emporio Armani Spring/Summer 2018You're not dreaming, for the first time since more than 10 years, Giorgio Armani has introduced his Emporio Armani collection in London and not Milan. In fact, killing two birds with one stone, he also opened a new store on Bond Street, in Mayfair neighborhood. The collection is as modern and light as the fashion show's soundtrack (Girls just want to have fun). We love the small glittering dresses, round hats, raincoats, large, colorful and striped suits, pastel and transparent dresses as well as funny crabs and fishes patterns.
Versus Versace Spring/Summer 2018Other Italian House introduced in Great-Britain : Versus Versace by the inescapable Donatella. Why did she choose London instead of Milan ? Simply to be honoured to unveil her collection between Central Saint Martins prestigious fashion school's walls. In a crazy and electronic atmosphere worthy of a nightclub, we could admire really graphic details, sportswear pieces, suits worn over bikinis, many really sexy and transparent pieces, a really modern black/green lime contrast, grey tartan... No mentioning the introduction of the new "Gianni Versace" scholarship for Central Saint Martins students .
