A beautiful event for a good cause

Francine LeFrak, founder of Same Sky stated : "For me, when I wear the jewelry, I feel connected to the women. I feel their energy, and I feel their hopes, dreams and wishes. You need to find things that disrupt you in life. You can’t just keep on one track."

In fact, Same Sky is a trade initiative, working to create employment opportunities for women struggling to lift themselves out of extreme poverty. Their Rwandan artisans, creating beautiful beautiful and symbolic bracelets and jewels, earn 15 to 20 times the average wage in Sub Saharan Africa. We should never forget that in 1994, the Rwanda had undergone a brutal genocide as nearly one million people were murdered and a quarter of a million women were raped, 70% of them contracted AIDS. That's why, Same Sky is giving them a second chance, providing employment, fair pay and education.
