The Museum of Modern Art’s Party in the Garden 2017

Last June 5th, The museum of Modern Art's Party in the Garden honored Susan and David Rockefeller as well as Eva and Glenn Dubin, along with collection artists Vija Celmins and Carrie Mae Weems. Extremely involved in the arts and culture, they were celebrated for their artistic approach and philanthropy.

Let's notice that Agnes Gund, Jo Carole and Ronald S. Lauder, Mimi Haas, Marlene Hess and James D. Zirin were co-chairs of the event while Leon D. Black, Marie-Josée Kravis and Jerry I. Speyer were the honorary co-chairs.

A really prestigious and exclusive after-party, which took place in MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, was highlighted by special musical performances by talented and really trendy British singer James Blake and Canadian producer and Dj Kaytranada.



The event also featured a special host committee of emerging female artists affiliated with the museum including Zoë Buckman, Molly Crabapple (writer of Drawing Blood), Teresita Fernández, photographer LaToya Ruby Frazier, Anna Rose Holmer (director of The Fits movie), Steffani Jemison, architect Jing Liu, Jumana Manna, Mika Rottenberg, Emily Roysdon, Erin Shirreff, Xaviera Simmons, Taryn Simon, Avery K. Singer, Sable Elyse Smith and Martine Syms.

Party in the Garden benefits MoMA’s Annual Fund and the maintenance of The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden. The event also supports the Museum’s general operating fund, helping to make possible the Museum’s education programs and the care, study, and maintenance of its collection.
