Mauritian villas in a Garden of Paradise

The imposing Morne Mountain on Mauritius Island provides the exquisite background scenery to the « Paradis »which has become a legend thanks to the equally legendary Malcom de Chazal, an artist (1902 – 1982) whose soul and spirit lives on in his gouaches which for over a century, also drew their inspiration from the heritage and history of this hotel.

A place forever marked by traces of Chazal

Through his observant eyes and magical fingers, the Mauritius Island was transformed into a dotted potpourri of colours and lighting effects, so many small prisms of life, engraved in gouaches for eternity. His spirit and artistic touch have left their mark on Mauritian rhythm and are now kept alive in paintings that adorn the corridors of Hotel Paradis. The Chazal bar, known for its warm welcome, was created to honour this artist and poet, giving new expression to this atmosphere of the past. Hotel guests, after swallowing down breakfast like an energizing slice of sunshine, and diving into the Great Blue, return to the hotel to take refuge, to lounge around and to enjoy a tropical nectar, while the shadows of palm trees grow longer and lower under rays of sunshine.

An artist has been forever embedded in posterity thanks to the Beachcomber Paradise.

Poet, writer when the time was ripe and painter, a man who knew how to portray the colourful and typical life of the Mauritius Island thanks to his multiple talents. At that time, inspired by a life of sun, air and fresh water, this magician of life, painted to earn a living and lived for painting. His canvasses were his way of footing the bill for his daily, frugal meals. Fortunately, he often dined at the Paradis Hotel of the Beachcomber Group. Later, this unknown and miserable artist, was to go down in posterity, thanks to exhibitions that shed light on his work and earned the recognition of his fellow countrymen.

Villas for dreaming and relaxing

In this tropical setting and very selective wing, the Paradis Hotel houses suites and rooms – deluxe and superior – reinvented spaces (a minimum of 55 m²) and 12 luxury villas, where you can even dangle your feet in the water. Even the most demanding hotel guest will be in Seventh Heaven.

Like jewellery boxes posed on the phosphorescent white sand, these villas, as Jean-Marc Lagesse, Executive Director of Paradis and Dinarobin hotels, puts it, « are a real invitation to immerse oneself in happiness and a feeling of freedom. » Intense sunrays, shadows projected on gently swaying palm trees under the lazy breeze of a light wind, only the blue horizon reminds us that the Great Blue is at our footsteps.
Each villa includes, to the delight of guests, typical varangues, long covered terraces alongside the villas, extended by white sand strips, opposite the sea, an invitation to dip into the turquoise waters.

No details have been neglected to ensure guests a carefree holiday

« Everything is designed to let hotel guests leave their worries behind, stresses Jean-Marc Lagesse. Planning is of essence. We strive to offer unique holidays, with the hotel services that match that. The villa master, the great organizer of your stay, oversees all housekeeping matters and anticipates all desires.» Cook and waiter can discretely emerge, for the time of a candlelight dinner, without breaking your trance, your eyes lost in her eyes, to concoct a barbecue for just the two of you on the beach, a savoury cuisine with a generous dose of happiness, spices, condiments and local aromas.
Villas include three comfortable rooms, decorated in local colour, including a master’s room with an adjoining bathroom, separated from the two other rooms with a spacious living room with a wooden parquet.
Each villa is an oasis of serenity whose tropical architecture draws on wood, thatch and other indigenous materials. A living room, a lounge, overlooking the sea, privileges the permanent contact with nature and water.

The Paradis offers a multitude of activities and a golf course.

If an urge overcomes you to return to the world of holiday hustling and bustling, the Paradis, which bears its name well, offers its guests who have had a sufficient dose of silence, a return to a hectic and wild change of pace : i.e. water or land sports, with a complete fitness room, a series of classes (from stretching, to kick boxing or to aerobics) as well as a cardio-training room that is available to hotel guests. For those passionate about the swing, a very beautiful Par 72 golf course with 18 holes, totally renovated, with its fine reputation for its beauty and the quality of its concept, is at your feet.
AtDinarobin, hotel guests can enjoy the Spa signed Clarins, with its exotic architecture, be pampered thanks to the pleasures of a four-hand massage or an aromatic energizing massage.
An electric golf cart that seats six, is graciously made available for the villa; the pleasures of the moment are at your beck and call.
A unique setting, the Morne sentry closely watches out for its guests so they can have the time of their life.

Seven restaurants and more !

For Epicureans for an evening, titillated by a gourmet urge, 7 restaurants – between theDinarobin and the Paradis – are available for their pleasure. The guest, enchanted by so much happiness, exulting from a wine chosen from the wine list with evocative and heady names, guests nourish the gentle sensation of enjoying these moments to the fullest, these little previews of eternity.
Later under the moonlight, immersed in silence, the night becomes as gentle as the petals of hibiscus delicately arranged on the white bed sheets by the villa master.
